The Beauty Of Writing Your Personal Story

Find a balance between your story and the message

One of the best things about writing your personal story is that you live life in a much deeper and meaningful way. You introspect more. You reflect well. You know more about yourself. It will only make you better.

Another interesting thing, which I only realized much later, is that you also approach life in a much-relaxed way. Because whatever happens in your life, good or bad, you think of it as a great opportunity to write a story. Your life will be much more interesting.

Think about it.

Let’s say you met someone new. You can write a story about it. You went to a new place. Again a story. You had an interesting conversation. Another story. You had a bad dream. A story. You felt something about someone or something. You enjoyed a moment. You remembered a glorious moment. Something great happened to you. You can write story of those moments.

Even when things went wrong with you, say, if you failed in something or something bad happens to you. Instead of feeling sad about what happened to you, you got a great opportunity to write a story about it. What happened to you? What did you do? How did you feel? What bothered you? What made you lose sleep? What went wrong? What did you learn? What others can learn from your failure? There is so much you can write. You could write about your greatest fears. Your worries. Passing thoughts. All could be a story.

So, why would you bother or worry about whatever happens? Good or bad, irrespective of that, it is a good thing. You get a chance to write one new story. Wouldn’t you approach life living with a different mindset?

Each day is an opportunity to look at life more sincerely and write that story. Many of those may not be as interesting as something you would like to share in public, perhaps, it can find a place in your diary. But even those, they may find place in a good story one day in the future. Because sometimes we connect the dots in a way that’s difficult to imagine.

Now that you start writing a story, something more happens when you write that as say, a personal essay.
