How to Use Facebook for Your Real Estate Business

Facebook is one of the most effective marketing tools for realtors. And even if you aren’t a realtor, Facebook is a great tool for your business. You can target your audiences, manage relationships, run paid campaigns, and generate quality leads.

Before we begin, it is important to have an optimized Facebook profile and content that connects you to your target audience. And now, we will begin discussing the steps to take to establish your brand on Facebook.

Create a business profile on Facebook for yourself. You will be prompted to set up a business-specific URL for your page. Your URL is of great SEO value. For example, if you have a website with name XYZ Realty then opt for facebook.com/XYZRealty as a URL name for your Facebook business profile. At all times, remember to keep your brand name consistent across all platforms, this will ensure high brand recall for customers.

Make sure your NAP (Name, Address, Phone Number) is the same across all platforms. Enter these important detail in the “About” section. Detail your business hours and write an informative blurb about the genesis of your brand, to get customers emotionally involved with your brand.

Your profile image should be 180 x 180 pixels, your logo as a profile image will create high brand recall.

A cover image is the one place where you can be extremely creative to get your audience engaged with your page. Having a beautiful image displayed as a cover photo is great, but my personal favourite is a cover video, it just grabs people’s attention in seconds. Cover video dimensions for Facebook needs to be at least 820 x 312 pixels, the recommended size is 820 x 462 pixels, and it can be anywhere from 20–90 seconds playing in a loop. If the video doesn’t fit, you will receive an error.

People are visual and love watching videos. So even having a real estate video tour or real estate promo video can generate customer’s interest.

As a realtor, a call to action button on your Facebook page like “Call Now”, “Send Email”, “Contact Us”, will make it clear how your potential clients can reach you easily. Place this call to action button in a prime location on your page — right below the cover photo.

Boost your business by inviting previous clients who can provide you a testimony, or even industry experts or your friends, who can put in a good word about your business and your brand. This lends you invaluable credibility.

Identify groups that you can join on Facebook. These groups can be targeted and even general groups that will contribute to your business, and exchange ideas with you. This allows your brand to gain popularity and acceptability.

You can build a successful business with sufficient time, effort, and consistency. Facebook is a new way of reaching out to a new pool of customers and can increase the conversions for your real estate business. By advertising on Facebook, you can generate leads in a matter of days. Social media is a truly powerful tool if you are able to master it. We hope these tips shared with you are able to start you off!
