Does technology make us lazy?

Today I was wondering if we are becoming lazier as a society as new technology keeps emerging or if we actually do create new tech because we are lazy.

I feel like we are relying so much on our devices that we are losing some abilities that humans took some time to develop, like memory for example.

I must admit that at the same time that my Iphone seems to complete me and keep memories my brain is no longer able to process as fast as it can, i get really scared to think that I became not only dependent but also addicted to it.

Now, our memories are all over the place: in phones, in clouds, in pen drives, in social media, in some servers from our service providers. The line between private and public is each time more blurred.

I mean, let's get real. Due to technology we are making an option to delegate things to our devices. Things we used to do like: remembering your home phone number, birthdays, recipes and some other things we can no longer remember without checking the information in our phones or social media.

Imagine that all of a sudden we lose our phones, e-mail accounts, social media and all these tools that are extensions of our brain and persona? It's hard to imagine life without them now. Feels like if we are not part of this whole thing we will also be forgotten.

We don't want to take the risk of relying on our imperfect brains or communication skills if technology delivers perfection, right?

We've been taught that perfection is a must, but let's not forget humans are not perfect and perfection could be quite boring.

Simple like that.
